Cat with a death wish

I don’t know what I’m looking for really as I don’t think short of keeping her in there is anything that can be done. Mog is an (8 next month) 3.26kg or around 7lb 3oz cat and isn’t a particular breed. Mog is a cat with a death wish though as tonight I was putting out the recycling and she was sitting in the front garden watching me. A Miniature Schnauzer who was on an unheld lead spotted her and instead of running away Mog squared up to it. Mog has over the past year squared up a few dogs including Labradors and a German Shepherd. As a result she doesn’t get out unless one of us is in the garden and we don’t have a cat flap. According to the vet she is a perfectly healthy cat. Does anyone have any thoughts on why she is now squaring up to the neighbourhood dogs as we’ve had her since she was a kitten.

No advice, but she sounds fabulous!

There was a vicious cat that lived near me, it would run and attack dogs and people who dared enter its territory! It was frightening and the owners never did anything about it! Be careful it only squares up to dog and doesn’t attack them.

Mog has never attacked people nor has she ever attacked a dog. Mog makes herself as big as possible and squares up to the dogs. I live in an upper cottage flat and the stairs are hers. Mog had one trip to the vet around 5 years ago for an injury to her belly caused by a large cat called Max. The injury was minor and after a week of antibiotics to make sure no infection developed she was fine. Max still lives over the road and wanders over to our side as and when he chooses but I haven’t seen him enter our garden since. However no dog has ever attempted the stairs and I suspect Mog wouldn’t attack unless they did and she felt her home was really threatened.
