12 week rescue kitten slight stinky

I rescued a dear little girl kitten last week. She’s 12 weeks old (not yet neutered). She’s been given a clean bill of health by the vets according to the foster lady. I have noticed there is a slightly stinky smell to her. Like an un-wiped bum smell 🫢

I have another, slightly older kitten, who doesn’t have any offensive smell at all.

The new kitten’s mother sadly died shortly after giving birth so I’m wondering if lack of mummy cat in the early days might mean she hasn’t learned how to clean herself properly.

The smell isn’t hugely offensive, but I notice it when I cuddle her close to me.
Anyone know what might be causing this? Not sure if I’m overthinking it but her bum hole looks slightly larger than what I would think is normal but I’m no cat expert so 🤷‍♀️

Im registering her at my local vets this week so will ask them as well.

What are you feeding her? Might be farty smells that could be inproved by grain free/better quality cat food. There's loads of options at various price points you could try.

Might be anal glands? TempCat has some days when he absolutely reeks. He only poos every 2nd day (vet not concerned) and nothing I've done in the way of food have changed that. I think his glands get a bit too full, as they usually empty when pooing. Worth asking the vet about glands when you go in.

Or yes, maybe not cleaning properly, though you presumably see that as she'd be dirty in the bum area.

She has Royal Canin dried kitten food and Sheba or Whiskas Kitten pouches. She also gets fresh cooked chicken as a treat. I will be transitioning her on Untamed eventually (which is what the other kitten has). She poos roughly once a day. I did wonder if it could be anal glands. Or maybe it’s just that she has a different smell to our other cat and I’m over thinking it. Her bum doesn’t look dirty.

We love her regardless. She’s a sweet little thing.
