Seizures in older cat- anyone with experience?

My 14 year old furry overlord has started having seizures, first one ca 12 months ago. We’ve only witnessed three since then(spread over the year) but of course he could have had several we just haven’t seen. After the first time it happened I spoke to the vet who didn’t seem too concerned as he came round fully afterwards etc.

Has anyone got any experience? He is fine in himself but something must be triggering the episodes.

My 15 year old started having seizures two years ago and has been on medication from the vets ever since and not had any more. He goes outdoors so I’d be worried about him having one whilst on a roof or a high fence etc. He’s 17 now and still loving life.

That’s reassuring to know. Mine does go out but only once a day to walk around the house in the summer. Hopefully it is just something which will keep happening on rare occasions.

Just keep an eye on him for escalation. With my boy it was very sudden from no seizures to three or more per day which is why he’s on the meds to keep them at bay.

Will do, thank you 😽
