Wound - fur not growing back

Cat was bitten on the lower back a few weeks ago leading to an abscess. The vet prescribed pain killers as there seemed to be no infection and he wore the collar a few days and all seemed fine. However, the fur still hasn't grown back and he sometimes seems sensitive there. I've seen him licking it a few times, but obviously cats do that anyway and he's definitely not doing it obsessively. Does anyone think it looks like he needs to be seen again? It's not a vey good photo but there's not a lot to see under the fur other than skin and a small scab.

I takes fur around 12 weeks to grow back in this kind of situation so I would give it more time.

Just keep an eye on it. The lack of fur is nothing to worry about. If, though, for any reason you decide you don’t like the look of the scab, or the cat seems in any way distressed, then take him back to the vet. You’re the best judge of whether your cat is himself or not.

It can take weeks (as in, several months) for fur to grow back. I really wouldn’t worry especially as it wasn’t infected.

Thanks everyone - I'll hold off for now.
