What's wrong with my cat?

He IS going to the vet this evening, just wondered if anyone had any ideas.

He was sick once Monday morning and since then has been really off his food, barely eaten anything except lick e lix and sliced beef. If I put food down he gets enthusiastic, takes a lick and that it. He's drinking water. He normally eats at least 4 pouches a day.

Sleeping loads but he's not hunched and will happily be on someone's lap and be stroked and he'll purr but he's normally VERY vocal and he's quiet.

Nothing wrong with his teeth as he was at the vets a couple of weeks ago and all good.

Not inappropriately peeing anywhere.

He hasn't climbed the stairs since Monday, usually he has his morning nap on our bed.

He's 10 now.

😢

Tooth stuff can set in really quickly, so it could still be that?
Hope it's something minor /easily resolved.

How did you get on?

TeaRoseTallulah · 16/04/2025 23:40

They took bloods and the results were ok. They put him on a drip as he was starting to get dehydrated and that perked him up a bit. If he doesn't eat over night then he has to go back at 9am and they'll treat him for poisoning as they think he injested weed killer.

He will only eat lick e lix and hasn't eaten properly since Monday so definitely needs treatment.

Bloody hell though, bill was £180, God knows what tomorrow's will be, last month was £360 for something else! Good job we love him 😉

Did they check all his joints? The not climbing the stairs suggests pain and he’s at the perfect age for arthritis.
