Low sided litter tray

Mewler is 17.5 years old and has noticeably aged in just the last 6 months. I need to get a low sided litter tray with a lid to see if it helps with her accidents outside the tray. When I google I get all sorts of totally unsuitable suggestions so I thought I would ask the best cat experts on the interweb. Any suggestions gratefully received.

Could you buy one with a 'door' and remove it? Then it will be covered but low entry. We have done this in the past as our cats don't like the door.

The one we have now has a door but it’s still quite a step up into the tray

We had this problem over 3 years ago with our 20+ year old boy!! He struggled to get into a normal litter tray. There doesn't, or there didn't then, seem to be a suitable tray available in the UK for an elderly cat with arthritis and weakened back legs!!

I found one on amazon.com and arranged to get it delivered to DH's NY office who then sent it on, but by the time he got it, it was kind of too late, because he had become doubly incontinent and it made no difference.

What I did notice later, there were seed trays in a garden centre that might have fitted the bill. It would be worth having a look!

We adopted three more cats after our boy died, and the elderly cat litter tray is in storage in the garage just in case!

@DeathMetalMumi have just ordered that litter tray so thanks for the link. I have arranged to take a urine sample into the vets which they will send off for testing before I lug Mewler in which she hates. If the tests show there is any treatment which could help her, she will have to put up with a visit. @Canthave2manycatsthanks for the suggestion about the seed trays, I may look at those too. I don’t know what I will do after she’s gone, I can’t imagine getting a different cat but I can’t imagine life without one 😿

I lost my elderly boy and browsing the rescue pages was the only thing that helped weirdly
My old boy had absolutely no patience so it made perfect sense he sent me a cat 3 days after he went
The first week was hard, I was still crying over him but caring for this new cat but it was absolutely right, nearly 2 years later and I adore him

Old boy was a tiny black noisy weirdo who was very adamant about things being right, so he sent me a giant black silent weirdo who causes total chaos

Everyone kept telling me that my old boy had sent me the new cats.

Did he fuck?! He hated cats! He would be livid!!
