Could somebody please recommend me a brush for my long haired cat? I’m wanting a brush to help prevent knots. Thank you

Very difficult to tell without a photo to see just how floofy your cat really is 😺

Beautiful cat Op! I have a Floofy cat too and find the furminator works well, though she’ll only tolerate it for about 5 mins.

A metal comb, grooming rake and a tangle teaser with stiff bristles. I had a Superdrug own brand one for my late long haired Persians. And a professional groom every few months.

Furminators will only remove the top coat. And not go through the thick bottom coat.

What’s a grooming rake please?

we have this type of comb (with rotating teeth) for our Siberian. They have long fur (triple coat) but less prone to tangles than some long haired cata. I’ve heard that furminarors are not good.

For my late long haired puss cat I used a ‘tangle teezer’ similar to a human one, sold for use on dogs in Pets At Home. My cat loved it and it got down to her undercoat and got out knots & tangles.

I think it’s called the ‘Pet Teezer’

I've bought one of these on your recommendation, as one of our cats (Sybil) complains about being brushed and does get matts.
Comb arrived today - it really works well and Sybil seems quite relaxed with it 😁.
