New kitten do you leave them alone at night? She was sleeping in my son’s room but she’s been keeping him awake all night with her meowing (squeaking!) I don’t like the thought of leaving her alone all night but have to as he isn’t able to sleep. Do others leave them alone at night?

I think sometimes people are too cautious with kittens, they are more robust than people think. We took one in at 9 weeks old, during the day he has access to most of the house and at night he stays in our large kitchen / diner and our 'snug', he is totally fine. We have three children and we can't have them being woken up by a kitten and none of us can deal with sleeping with doors shut.

He is the happiest little thing, and doesnt cry etc... he is of course happy to see us in the morning.

For the first week we put a hot water bottle in his bed and my Husband would stay until he chilled out - but now we leave him and he is fine. Leave him food, toys and water and he will just go to sleep when he wants.
