Kitchen smells of cat pee

I have got one cat who no longer has a litter tray and has never peed in the house.

I’ve woken up this morning to a kitchen that stinks of cat pee. Judging by the amount of food that has been eaten overnight (including yesterday’s food that had been rejected by DCat) I suspect another cat has come in through the cat flap overnight.

I can’t find the source of the smell. Is it likely to be pee or spraying, and how on earth can I get rid of it if I can’t find where it is?!

You haven’t got daffodils have you? I find the smell of cat pee.

We used to have this problem with an unneutered boy who would break in overnight and spray - often in very difficult to access places: behind the bath, behind the grate in the fireplace. I would clean like a lunatic but some of his sprays were difficult to track down ☹️

Have you got a cat flap with a microchip reader (was no use for us as he would sneak in through open windows in summertime.).

Try getting a UV black light torch, this will show up any urine stains on the floor. Has the added bonus I gather of being able to detect fake bank notes too!
