She cries all night

Hiya,
Our 4 year old cat is OBSESSED with my 9 year old daughter. She adores her, runs to find her if she's crying. They are very close.

This is causing major trouble during the night. If the cat is allowed in my daughter's bedroom she wakes her multiple times for a stroke. If we keep her out of the bedroom she sits at the door and cries all night. This is the only way my daughter sleeps but it keeps me awake.

Has anyone got any ideas of a solution which isn't get rid of the cat ( that's my husband's current idea and not happening)?

Shut the cat downstairs in the kitchen.

My boy cat is like this with my husband. He’s now like this with me because I’m pregnant. It’s adorable but I am thinking of sleeping in the spare room since it’s not sustainable. Humans need their sleep.

It’s so difficult but I think you probably do need to get the cat used to being confined to somewhere like the lounge overnight. Maybe you can put a worn t shirt of your daughter’s in her basket so she can be comforted by that.

Shut him downstairs at night. My parent's cat does this, as does my friends. They are loud! So they stay downstairs at night.
