5 days since Tommy passed

It's 5 days since we had to put our gorgeous friend Tommy down. He had a bad heart, he was only diagnosed a couple of weeks ago but went down hill very quickly. I wasn't ready, but it was the kindest thing for him. We were all with him at the end and he knew how much he was loved.
He was 10 and the best cat ever. I miss him so much, the house is empty without him.
My husband and son are devastated as well but have been able to cry, I haven't. 😿

oh, beautiful Tommy! What a sad loss for your family; knowing it was the right thing doesn't mean its not still hard but I hope you can find some solace in the fact he isn't suffering anymore, and that you did your best for him until the very end - even though it hurt to do it. That is love.

You'll cry when you're ready.

Take care

I’m sorry for your loss. It’s really hard when this happens. He looks very lovely.

Iwishyoudstay · 24/02/2025 19:42

Oh I'm so sorry OP.
He looks so beautiful. And very wise.

CatChant · 25/02/2025 14:37

What a lovely face.

I’m sorry OP. It must have a been a horrible shock to realise he was failing because you do think they have a good few years left at 10.

It sounds as though he had a very happy life with you. And a peaceful ending before he could suffer, which was the last gift you could give him.

It’s hard for you to learn to live without him though. Take care. Be kind to yourself.

What a handsome boy, so very sorry for your loss, it is the hardest kindness to give to your little love. Look after yourselves 💐

Minimilia · 28/02/2025 14:04

I’m so sorry @Anniecott , what a beautiful boy. You were able to do the kindest, most loving thing for him, even though it is so incredibly hard. The tears will come when they’re ready to, sending you all much love

Anniecott · 28/02/2025 14:28

Thank you for all your kind words.
So we got our boy home today, his casket is just so little 😿
Still doesn't feel real 💔

He has the cutest little face! We lost our dear boy two weeks ago tomorrow. It hurts so bad, but the empty house feeling is the worst. All the little sounds you miss too.
I was grief stricken for days, but feel a lot better now. It was the first time I’ve ever seen my DH shed tears in 26 years! We all grieve differently. I found still speaking to my boy helped. Sending hugs to you.
