Cat guarding house when we are away

Help!
Our lovely soppy ( normally) male nurtured cat has now been blacklisted from the cattery ( he wouldn't let anyone in the enclosure) so we tried a cat feeder.
He has basically not let her in the house. Full on aggressive mode.
This is a cat who is very bonded to us , very cuddly and affectionate and good with our children.
What the hell can we do now?
He had the run of the house when we were away, all he had to do was let this lady in to be fed and have his litter tray changed.
He is never aggressive with us, he is fine at the vet. But obviously we are always with him when people come over so he behaves normally.
Anyone ever had this issue? Do I find a new cat feeder and have her over for a weekly visit or something so he accepts her as a friend??

On a positive we have good security it appears.

I think your best bet would be to let him get to know anyone whos coming to sort him first and try it with you out of the house first type of thing.

Can a friend housesit? I suppose your friends are familar with your cat from visiting you.

I don't really have anyone who could do this whilst on holidays. He is fine with family and friends. He gets on fine with my mother ( and her dog) she can babysit with no issues.
But she can't visit daily for holidays.
I will have to have a cat sitter over a few times t think and build up.

I had a cat like this. She was extremely unpredictable. Didn't want to know anyone else but me. In the end I had to stop going away until her demise at 21 years old.

I can't not go away ever again. 😫
We have 5 humans in the house and he is always absolutely fine with us.
He is spoilt I will admit as gets a lot of attention but seriously this is ridiculous.

I'm a cat-sitter and have done visits for aggressive cats.

I come in wearing wellies to protect my legs and carrying a big piece of plastic or wood to block the cat - I basically have to block the cat backwards into a room, shut the door and then go and do whatever needs doing (food, litter, water).

Then, open the front door to leave and literally let the cat out at the last second. It's like a military operation Grin I've never been hurt badly but I have been caught with claws a few times.

So I'm not the only one with an unreasonable cat.
I am so embarrassed about his behaviour as he is not like this with us at all. In fact since we have been home all he has done is demand cuddles and purr, he is currently in bed with my son.
I will talk to a different cat sitter and get a plan in place for next holiday.

@dogwlllwalk honestly don't be embarrassed.

When I do visits for aggressive cats I encourage the owners to use timed feeders to minimise the number of visits I have to do. I go in once a day, do the food and litter then leave, no hanging about.
