How Long to wait for reply from cat rescue

Hi,

Please can I ask for some advice from those with experience adopting from animal rescue charities? I applied to adopt 2 young cats from a local charity. They replied to my initial email within a day and arranged for a phonecall and virtual home check 2 days later. The lady I was talking to told me these were all passed and she would contact the foster home where the cats currently live to arrange a meeting. A week later I hadn’t heard anything so messaged asking if everything was ok. The next day she replied saying she hadn’t been well and was playing catch up, which was fine. A few days later she sent me a message asking if she could call me for a chat the next day, I said of course, but she never called. I gave her another day and she still hadnt called, so I sent a message asking nicely for an update and saying she could call whenever if she needed to talk about anything. I have still had no response even though the messages have been read. I’m not sure whether I am being ignored or whether they are genuinely too busy to respond. I’m not sure whether to keep waiting/trying or look elsewhere! Advice appreciated 😌

I'd just phone now.

Yes, I’ve thought about it, but they don’t have a charity phone number, I think it’s one of the volunteers mobiles she has been messaging me from. I wasn’t sure whether ringing it would be ok to do or not. I’m never sure where the line is with things like this 😬

The rescue I got mine from
Was a nightmare to get in touch with. But perseverance paid off.

I’ll bother them again then! They’ve been active on Facebook and updated website etc but no reply to any of my messages! I don’t understand why they’d say my application was successful and then not respond!

Are the cats you are applying to adopt still showing as available ? Or reserved ?

They might already be reserved by someone .

Worth another message , I think .

It was a while ago, but Cats Protection just blanked us. We had what we thought was a very positive home visit, then nothing, despite numerous phone calls and messages. No idea why.
