Someone has stolen my cat

Just that really;my family is devastated;my daughter who has a chronic health issue has been mostly housebound for the past 3 months and he's been her constant companion and a source of great comfort for her.

She has exams next week that she needs the grade from to get into university and she doesn't need the stress of her little bestie being gone on top of the physical and mental stress she's already under as she's currently so poorly.

My beautiful tuxedo boy likes to visit the supermarket across the road;he's quite the little celebrity there;he's loved by so many local people who tell me it lights up their day when get to see him there and pet him.

On Tuesday evening a woman stole him;a supermarket worker challenged her when she tried to walk off with him and she made her put him back telling her he has an owner only for the cat napper to return when the staff member went inside.

My cat was seen fighting the woman as she carried him to her car and put him in it.

He's been reported as stolen to our local police force and we've utilised social media;he's been shared hundreds of times.

I'm hoping so much that he's returned by the car napper.

The local community is up in arms that he's been stolen.

Need a hand hold more than ever right now.

*Yes he's microchipped and reported as stolen to the company

I really hope this is all over local social media, unless you think she'd harm him?

Ask the supermarket and everyone nearby if they caught the reg of the car on camera. Do this quickly, before footage is wiped.

I don't understand why people do this. The cat fighting back would be the clue to the abductor that the cat doesn't want to go.

Pudmyboy · 31/01/2025 13:04

No advice just a handhold, and a sincere hope he is back with you asap 🤞🤞

FormerlyPathologicallyHappy · 01/02/2025 11:29

Oh god I’m sorry what a bitch. Your poor boy.

EachandEveryone · 01/02/2025 12:03

This is just terrible did you get the reg number?

Chuchoter · 01/02/2025 12:04

CCTV?

TheFormidableMrsC · 01/02/2025 12:07

Flood all your local Facebook pages with pictures. Don't hold back the description either. Report to all local vets. What an absolute shit of a human doing that. Put a description of the woman if you can and the car and yes be quick with CCTV and asking for dashcam footage too. Good luck.

Contact your local newspaper.. This is an ideal story.

TheFormidableMrsC · 01/02/2025 12:10

Sorry I skim read your post. I see you've done SM. Keep sharing and bumping. Locally to me we have an organisation that helps find missing pets. Perhaps see if you can find something like that. I'm raging on your behalf.

This and the local news channel.

MissMoneyFairy · 01/02/2025 12:19

Do you want to share photos here too if it's allowed

Toddlerteaplease · 01/02/2025 12:55

That's awful. Hand hold from me. Hopefully outrage in social media will be strong.

TheDowagerCountessofPembroke · 01/02/2025 12:58

Oh no. Echoing others, I would plaster social media, local paper, local tv news, missing cat groups on Facebook.

midnightblackcat · 01/02/2025 12:59

This is awful! I’m assuming you didn’t get the car reg, as you didn’t mention it.

Was the supermarket worker able to give you a description? Could you ask them to call you if she comes into the store again?

TheFormidableMrsC · 02/02/2025 10:39

@Duckingella Any news?

KnickerlessParsons · 02/02/2025 11:08

Are you in North Wilts?

This happened locally to me and there was such an outcry on SM that the kidnapper was identified and eventually gave the cat back.

fannieadams · 02/02/2025 20:47

I saw your post on FB as my cat is missing. We have a local celebrity cat too and when he got lost, residents were out looking for him - fortunately, he wasn't far but not in his usual spot.

Reach out to local news as your cat is well known, it will be picked up. Good luck.
