Adopted a cat!

Adopted a cat today. She’s already quite confident, jumping on sofa, exploring, interacting with us, rolling over and purring. She seems very friendly. Still hiding at times which I expected also but she’s mainly coming out to see us. Any tips of how to help her settle please and I’ve shown her where the litter tray. Any tips to help her go there?

She's back on top of the kitchen cupboard sleeping

So that's your next purchase defined - clearly she's a "tree" cat rather than a "ground" cat, so you need to buy her a tall cat tree.

At least 5 feet high, with an assortment of platforms/beds/hammocks, with sisal covered posts for scratching, MAY be adequate for her Majesty's requirements. But beware - the more you spend on it, the less likely it will be that she takes to it because, well, cat.

Maybe put a small blanket or fleece up on the cupboard for her?

Hi everyone, so she has been and used the litter box a few times since coming home. She is eating fine. But the last few hours has been on top of the cabinet. I have a put a blanket with her now @EmpressaurusKitty. She seems OK and content up there but I'm wondering when she will come down, it's been a few hours now
