9 week old kitten with diarrhea

I've been feeding him felix kitten which he was on before I got him. Unfortunately he's snaffled a bit of the other cat's Webbox and just now I noticed he has a bit of diarrhea. He's been fine up to now and he's happy enough.

Am I ok to feed him cooked chicken for a day or two to see if it clears up? He's booked in at the vets on Friday for his jabs but if he continues with diarrhea I'll ring them to ask what to do.

Honestly now it's through his system it will probably stop by itself

Thanks. I started to panic a bit. He's sleeping but seems OK. I've given him some chicken anyway, figure it can't do any harm. The Webbox was senior, I'm wondering if it was too rich for him.

9 weeks is young to be removed from his mum anyway. However after one episode of diarrhoea I'd have kept feeding the food he was used to rather than giving something else. He's very tiny so better not to confuse his gut futher. Might help if he had the same problem when much older.

Have you/breeder completed a full worming treatment? Pretty much all kittens have worms.

Ah ok. I thought chicken was bland enough to give him. I'll put him back on his kitten food tomorrow. He has been snaffling the senior food for a few days now. I will start feeding the other cat behind closed doors!

I know he's too young. But if I hadn't taken him someone else would have - all his siblings have been rehomed. I've had kittens before at that age and they've been ok.

He's not been wormed yet no, I'm going to ask the vet to do it on Friday.

I wouldn't mess about with a nine week old kitten. He needs to be on kitten food only and lots of regular meals.

Don't start giving him chicken or other human food. He's far too young.

I just thought chicken was nice and bland, I've given it to adult cats if they were ill.

Anyway, unfortunately he's still got diarrhea. He isn't going in his tray a lot or I'd have realised earlier and called the vet! I'm going to call them in the morning. He's only had his kitten food, absolutely no chance he's eaten any of the older cat's food as I've kept the door shut when feeding them and picked it up straight away. He seems fine, but because he's so young I'll err on the side of caution.
