Hi everyone, I did post the other day about my cat who fell from my bedroom window. Turns out the vet thinks she has torn her ligament, and has referred us to a specialist.
While we wait to hear from the specialist, she is confined to the small spare bedroom and is on gabapentin and metacam. It’s only been a couple of days and even though she’s chilled, she’s bored already. It’s stressful waiting for the call from the specialist because I just want her to be treated now and get on with it! The vet said she may need surgery or she may just need crate rest. But either way, she will need to go in a crate at some point.
I am feeling stressed and worried. Unfortunately, I have been though this before with my other cat who fractured his paw and it was an incredibly difficult and stressful time. I can’t believe I’m going to have to do it again. At first I was thankful that it isn’t a feature or break and was thinking it may be easier and quicker to heal, but from reading up other peoples experiences, this doesn’t seem the case 😢
Would really love it if anyone could give me a handhold while I go through this, and if anyone has any experience of cruciate ligament injuries in cats, I’d love to know how it went
