Cat lost her voice

Cat is 2, perfectly well in herself, eating and drinking normally, in and out of the cat flap, trotting around after us and generally bright and alert. But yesterday, when trying to yell at us for food, instead of her usual meow, just a squeak is coming out. She doesn’t seem to have a cold, there’s no eye/nose discharge, no sneezing, although I’ve noticed she sounds a touch rattly when she’s purring. I’m not sure if she needs an emergency vet appointment today or if we can take a watch and wait approach for a couple of days?

Google tells me cats can get laryngitis but a lost meow can also indicate tumours on their voice box, so I’m just trying to work out how urgent it is that she sees a vet. She’s insured so no issues in getting her any treatment she needs I just wanted to get a feel for if waiting a couple of days would make a huge difference if it’s something more serious.

I really, really wouldn't bother with the vets unless it lasts a few days or she's showing other signs of pain or illness.

Every single one of my cats has "lost their miaow" at some point - always comes back within a day or two.
