Frozen cat flap

Just wanted to say, if you have a cat flap, check it isn't frozen shut as mine was tonight.

My lovely girl was trapped outside and thankfully okay but wouldn't have been if outside all night. I think it was condensation on the 'fluffy' insulator bit running around the cat flap freezing it shut.

I've wiped it down but shut her in for the night, we're now on the bed about to go to sleep Smile

Oooh good tip! Where are you? I'm in London so not sure if we are that cold here yet.

If you dry the seal and then wipe vaseline around it then it shouldn't freeze.

I'm North East so very chilly, minus 4 tonight.

Thanks for the tip, I haven't got any Vaseline but I've rubbed a bit of veg oil around the edges, hopefully that will work, they hate being trapped in!
