Missing Cat Stories (positive ones please)

I need some positive stories (I have enough negative thoughts of my own) of cats who went missing and have turned up.

One of mine has been missing for 3 weeks now (23 days to be precise). I've done everything, posters all over the neighbourhood, flyers through all doors, reported her missing to Cats Protection, RSPCA, the microchip company have sent her missing poster to all vets, rescues and police within a 20 mile radius.

She's on Facebook on multiple pages and groups. I go out every day looking for her, think most of the neighbourhood are looking for her. I've called the council, who said they scan every cat that they get in. There have been some sightings but it's never there when I get there (I ignore the crank call from the woman who screamed down the phone).

I just want her home. It just feels so sad and I feel so helpless that she's out there and not sprawled on my bed. Her brother misses her terribly and isn't eating much as well.

Good luck op. When my dcat came back after 6 months she did occasionally return to that place she had been. So keep your dcat in a while and be prepared to possibly go seek her again.

Ps she didn't ignore you because she doesn't love you!!

Good luck op. Keep us updated. At least you know she's safe and well fed which is some comfort for you

Best wishes and hope she's back home within the week! I can't imagine how hard it has been for you, given I went to pieces inside 24h.

She's home! She was caught last night. She's very skinny, very clingy and very vocal. She's been all over me like a rash. Spent all night asleep next to me on the bed, purring so loudly and keeps sitting on my laptop today. She ran straight over to her brother (ignoring me) when we got back last night, and nuzzled his neck and head, he was slightly less impressed.

She seems however to be alert, active and bright. Just seriously underweight. She has a check up with the vet next week just to be sure she's okay but so far she seems to have survived her adventure okay.

Ah bloody marvellous op!! 8 lives left. I hope she is grounded for the foreseeable future!! Of course a pic would seal the thread nicely!?

Brilliant news op. So pleased for you and the kitties

Thanks everyone. She went to the vet on Friday, she's been given the okay although she's worn all her claws down so they think she was shut in somewhere at some point, but physically she's fine. I'm so relieved and happy (and glad I took her to the vet because I would have spent the week worrying).

My mums cat disappeared one day. She was about 8. Days and weeks and months went by without any sighting. About 18 months later we were at the local county hall taxing the car. This was about 3 miles away.

I waited in the car while my sister and mum went in. My sister saw a cat that looked like Kitty. She called the cat and it came over. It was Kitty as she recognised us and also had a scar on her tail in the same place. We took her home and she lived happily until she was 22. She never ventured far away again though.

Lovely photo op. So glad she's home and happy

This is why the microchip is so important ,if the details are kept up to date.
I'm sure there are many missing cats that people assume are strays. It doesn't take long for a cat to look dirty and unkempt like a stray!
If people find a cat and it's friendly, it needs checking for a microchip as soon as possible.
