Cat not eating

Male cat, 7 years, gradually stopped eating over last few days. Had small portion of wet food yesterday, today doesn’t want anything. Had some water today and used litter tray. Visited vet Thursday and Friday, blood tests all clear. Spoke to online vet today. Vets all said he’ll start eating soon, keep tempting him. Today I’ve tried tuna, dreamies, cat milk, Sheba soup, chicken - he’s turned his nose up at everything. He’s very lethargic. Vet said he wasn’t dehydrated. I’ll take him back on Monday for a urine test and to see the vet again. But I’m so worried, has anyone else been through similar and did their cat start to eat again? Can I do anything else to tempt him?

Have they checked teeth? Is he definitely not eating elsewhere?

Anotherweddingdilemma · 04/01/2025 22:29

Checked his teeth, gums etc. He hasn’t been out so definitely not eating elsewhere.

Have you got any lick a lix to put on his wet food. Always tempts my cat.

Our cat is like this, however he is much older and on thyroid medication. It’s a constant game of guessing what he wants. And pandering to his every whim! He seems to require a buffet, chicken pieces, biscuits, various cat foods, tuna, treats etc, all laid out with crispy crumble toppings. He really likes Lick-e-lix. Have you tried heating his food up a little? Our’s likes to be spoon fed too!
Sometimes they seem to just make a remarkable recovery, usually after you have parted with large sums of cash at emergency vets! Try not to worry and good luck! Bless their little hearts.

He had a licky thing this morning but wasn’t interested in it this evening. Think I’ll just have to let him sleep now and see if he’ll have anything in the morning.

@TheNinjaWife thank you for your kind words, he’s usually so full of beans that it’s really hard to see him like this. I was spoon feeding him yesterday and he was licking some cat milk off my finger but this evening won’t have anything. Vet didn’t know what the cause could be.

How is kitty today. Hope he’s feeling and feeding better. Does he like licky lix. My cat has some dental problems but can’t resist licky lix

Heartbroken to say that my beautiful boy passed away this morning. Vet was mystified, suggested possible heart condition that bloods etc hadn’t identified. I haven’t stopped crying all day.
