Seizures/fits in young cat

Our 5 year old cat has been having seizures for nearly 2 years now. They happen every 2-5 months and last for about a minute each time. It’s horrid to see, she loses control of one side of her body and falls on the floor and paddles her legs, froths at the mouth and when she stops fitting she takes a few minutes to come back around. She’s then ravenous and thirsty and very purry and affectionate for a long while after. Then back to normal after an hour or so!
We have been dismissed many times by vets who say there’s nothing that can be considered unless they’re either happening multiple times in 24/48 hours or unless we take her to have various scans at a vet hospital which will stress her out big time. Then it’s likely they’d prescribe epilepsy medication but that can change their personality and must be taken on the dot every 12 hours which will be difficult for a cat that isn’t food motivated…
Has anyone had anything similar with their cat?

Can you think of anything that happens just prior to the seizures?

You've talked to many vets - all from the same practice? Have you asked for a referral to a specialist?

I would want a second opinion from an RCVS feline specialist or I'd want to try a referral veterinary hospital. I appreciate this all costs money and you may not be insured.

(I've heard anecdotal stories of some flea treatments triggering seizures)
