Meloxidyl

MrCat has been on Meloxidyl since having a procedure on Tuesday. He has never been so chilled in the three years we've had him. He's practically poured over my lap right now. His appetite is good, though it's very difficult for him to eat in the buster collar, and I have never seen him go so nuts for Dreamies before. And the cat who hated having anything over or around him is totally unbothered about the buster collar.

Is this normal for Meloxidyl?

It doesn't have that effect on our cat at all, just usually an upset stomach! It's a type of anti inflammatory so not usually something that would make them super chill. What was his procedure? Perhaps he's just feeling comfortable if something that was bothering him has been treated? Or relieved to be back home and tired now the adrenaline of a vets trip has worn off? Presumably he was fasted before his procedure? Might explain why he's hungry now?
