Ah help! Cat spaying in hall.

2 year old male cat. Neutered at 6 months.
Moved house 18 months ago.

No recent changes
No new pets.

He is spaying (not peeing) in the hall.

He's an outdoor cat and has a litter tray upstairs too.

This has been happening maybe 3 months, but very sporadically.

I've just found the tiniest spray drops again on the wall in the hall.

It's the worst smell in the world and it's driving me nutty

Am cleaning with enzyme cleaner.

Any advice please?

Sounds like there is another cat intruding his territory. I would place another litter tray where he is spraying and use a feliway in the hall too. Is there any chance another cat has come in via the cat flap?

I can't place a litter tray there, it's a very narrow hall and we wouldn't be able to open the front door.
We don't have a cat flap but there are alot of cats in the Avenue out the front so you may be onto something.

I will Google feliway.

Oh he came home with a scratch on his face a while ago actually so maybe he is being bullied?!

Does the feliway have to be near where he is spaying? There's no plug there.

It sounds like there's another cat out there causing problems. Can you block off his access to the hallway?
