Hi, I bought a cheap water fountain cos my boy wouldn't drink from a bowl. It works & he does use it but the stupid thing is so noisy & drives me nuts! Are the more expensive ones worth investing in? This one is all plastic, I've seen other ones that are stainless steel etc.

Thank you xx

Mine gets noisy if there water level isn't high enough and air gets into the pump. I have the PetMate one.

I also have a pet mate and agree they need topping up as more noisy when not.
Also with a pet mate you can adjust the flow so that helps to quieten it .

Oh I didn't know that. I'll have a look at it, thanks

I invested in the Miaustore ceramic fountain almost three years ago. Never looked back, it's amazing. The pump is totally silent. It doesn't need filters. It goes in the dishwasher every two weeks. It holds 3 litres so doesn't need topping up all the time. Cat drinks from it every day. The customer service and warranty are great too. It's pricey but so are filters for the cheap plastic fountains every month.

I invested in one for my (now sadly deceased) cat. He refused to use it, so I returned it and got my money back.
My current cat, a teenage tearaway, has a large oblong Mason Ironstone dish and happily drinks from it on a regular basis. The plus for this is that I can see how much he's drunk and can replace the water when it's been drunk.

Our Siamese have the Catit Pixi , downstairs is mains , upstairs is rechargeable and motion activated .We have the plastic ones , we did have a stainless steel version but that was really noisy .
