Easy way to clear up cat poo

I'm feeding next door's cat for a few days. They didn't tell me till today that the cat is being kept inside & using a litter tray. Trouble is he's missed it a few times so there's lumps of poo dotted around and it's quite.. ahem...loose shall we say. It turned my stomach just to see it. I'm dreading having to clean it up. Any tips?

Piece of tissue over the top, then scoop up with a poo bag if its really messy, in the outside bin.
If it's not too messy pick the tissue up with your hand a flush down the toilet (if it's toilet roll).
Wipe the area with surface wipe.
Thoroughly wash hands.

Please if you are in the UK do not flush cat poo down the toilet. Water and sewage systems in the UK aren't designed to kill the toxoplasma gondii parasite so it could cause harm to human health

I definitely wouldn't do this. I think I did it once and it made a disgusting mess of the toilet bowl 🤑

though I did know a cat that was trained to poop in the toilet!

Depending on the cat litter, covering it with this and then leaving it for a while dries it out. I use a maize based clumping litter and it works like a dream on cat vomit and liquid spills

hoover

I double bag my hand and scoop a bit of litter over it before scooping the poo like dog walkers do. Straight into outdoor bin.

I don't think my neighbour would be too happy finding runny shit in her vacuum!

I’d be using floor wipes if it’s just short term and dog poo bags to pick up the poop.

😄

At least she wouldn't ask you to look after her cats again

(btw - just a bad joke about the hoover - but really, it is all so gross when it's someone else's pet/child)

We look after each other's cats but this is the first time hers has been kept indoors. Poor thing. I don't think he was too impressed. Ours have a cat flap so no litter tray to bother with. I have such a bad gag reflex!
