I don't no where to start I found my cat in the middle of the road not moving as I pulled up near my home I froze we run out of the car pick her up her eyes and mouth was open and a tear was on her eye she looked and moved a little with her head we rushed to the vets but they quickly looked at her and in a few moments they said she had passed away it's been 3 nights now I cannot sleep and cannot get the image of seeing her in the middle of the road lying there not moving whenever she would get injured or hurt herself before She would come and make noises outside the house this time she could not even move. This is killing me I do not know how to deal with this my son and my daughter are in so much pain as well We buried her on the riverbank next to our house because she always used to chill there.
That was her favourite spot and when we opened are door we can see her there on the riverbank. I put flowers there thank you for your time for reading this. her name was Ghost she was only seven she was a little baby girl. I love her and miss her so so much.

I'm so sorry OP Flowers

Rest in peace ghost. Please know that you gave her the best life.

I'm so sorry to hear this.. I had a thread recently about my lovely boy who died after being knocked down while I was away. People were so kind.

It's a horrible loss.

ScottBakula · 17/11/2024 08:02

I am so sorry , it must of been a hell of a shock to see her there like that.

It's early days yet and very understandable that the family really upset but the hurt will ease in time.

GoodVibesHere · 17/11/2024 08:13

I'm so, so sorry OP. Your beautiful baby girl.

It's devastating, losing them is just heartbreaking and I feel so sad for you because I know how it hurts. Things will get better but it does take time. I cried non-stop for about a week, I couldn't eat very much and was heartbroken, I couldn't see the point of getting out of bed and I wasn't functioning. They leave such a massive hole, because you get so used to them being there as part of your family. It's such a cliche I know but time is a healer and it gets better though you never, ever forget them, and the love remains.

Go easy on yourself, be restful and quiet and slow, seek the peace and comfort you need xx

So sorry to hear this. My cat was also killed by a car at 7yrs old. She died soon after getting to the vets. It's very difficult to deal with something so distressing and it will take time to come to terms with being without her.

All you can do is take it a day at a time and grieve however you need to grieve. It took me a long time to get through the grief and shock.

So so sorry Ghosty. She looks gorgeous. I know how devastating it is to lose a DCat. You are losing a member of the family. Sending love Flowers

VenusClapTrap · 17/11/2024 09:37

I’m so sorry op. Grief is the price of love and all that - it hurts like hell.

Ghost was beautiful. What a lovely life she must have had, with a river bank to chill on.

Ghostybaby · 17/11/2024 09:38

Thank you all so much for your generous messages

I’m so sorry… she looks beautiful and of course you miss her dreadfully. I’m sure it’s not much consolation but you gave her a lovely life & were with her at the end, she knew how much you loved her. I would also be devastated if something happened to my fur baby. Big ((hug))

MrsCatE · 17/11/2024 11:32

I'm so sorry. People are horrible and will try and hit cats or ignore. It's vile. I've had comments because mine is an indoor cat and only goes out with us - on a harness - and then you read stories like this. X

So sorry for your loss, I recently lost my 2 year old cat to a car, 12 days after my 1 year old cat disappeared. They are part of our families and it’s very very hard 🌈

Ghostybaby · 18/11/2024 05:52

Thank you all very much for your generous messages. Cannot stop thinking about her.

What a beautiful girl - take some comfort that you found her and got her to a place of safety albeit for a short time .
My approach ( bit different to many on here ) to losing a much loved cat is to ‘ go out and get ‘ a new one to cuddle and love .
