Ours it's the kitchen cupboards, if he sees the m open he immediately tries to get in and root(we keep his food in a set of drawers) and if the drawers above the cupboards are open he's tries to peer in, thankfully he hasn't worked out how to open the doors.

His special sheepskin rug. Bestest thing we ever got him.

Another one-pipe cleaners, if dd1 didn't close her craft box properly he would have open and pull the bag of them out then start throwing and chasing them round the room. We would catch him trying to pry the top of the box to get at them😀

The cellar door. Suddenly we're not allowed to close it. She doesnt want to go in. But the door shall now stand ajar at all times otherwise miaowing & scratching will occur.

Food. Hogging our laps. Food.

JaceLancs · 08/11/2024 22:49

Finlay is obsessed with roaming miles away from home!

My cat is extra pleased to see me if I get in from work and make myself a piece of bread and cheese- a tiny crumb of cheddar (preferably with a tiny bit of butter on it) makes her purr so loudly. So if I don’t want to be stared at while eating I give her a huge cuddle as soon as I’m through the door, then sneak away to eat in secret.

Trying to get in the garage ... which she's NOT allowed in

Food. Brushies. Catnip. Stealing the duvet. Kicking the local bruiser cat out when he munches their food.

And rinse and repeat.

ZZGirl · 09/11/2024 00:21

Carrier bags.
He was terrified when we first got him, he'd run at the sound of them, now he will gladly lick them to his hearts content

This is a bit 2020. I have had a rotten cold and took a Covid test the other day. Cat got hold of the liquid vial thing and was playing with it, batting it around the kitchen then carrying it round in his mouth for ages. It then (very, very sadly) went under the oven, and neither of us could get it.

He has a whole wicker basket of lovely toys, but for the last four days he has been desperately trying to retrieve the Covid test thing. (DP refuses to shift the oven to get it - such a meanie.)

The other thing he’s obsessed with is the evening routine. Dinner for him is 6.30. Brush immediately we’ve finished our dinner, between 7.30 and 8 - the audio cue is the dishwasher being stacked. Out after brush. Supper at 9. Catnip (“drugs”) at 9.30. Mad half hour after that, then into his bed.

My cat thinks he's a dog I'm sure, as every time he hears the post coming through the letterbox he makes a mad dash to try and grab the postie's fingers when the lid is open.
luckily the postie is now aware of him and keeps his hands safe! Dcat will also bring letters to me and drop them at my feet,

Me, mostly 😸

My ginger cat is also fascinated with/by my wheelchairs (& determined to ensure he marks them as his, rubbing his fuzzy wee face all over them); while my black cat is an absolute fiend for potatoes & has more than once managed to steal chips/crisps/a roast potato/a potato croquette from me 🤦🏻‍♀️

Both of them are obsessed with my food. Which is vegan. I’ve to have child locks on the cupboards & fridge to stop them conducting raids - cheese? fish? No, vegan “ham” is what the cool cats want. Or cake, if they can get their paws on it, despite supposedly not being able to taste anything sweet 🫤

The fridge and dishwasher. Every time I open them she wants to get in.

twiddlingthumbs69 · 10/11/2024 12:55

@Usnone oooh! Spooky! Must be something down there 😱

Fleasies · 10/11/2024 13:07

Eating peppers. Well, to be honest, eating full stop but peppers have a very special place in his tummy and he becomes quite distressed if I’m chopping one and he doesn’t get a piece. This often leads to desperate lunges with claws so he has to blocked out of the kitchen.

Oldraver · 10/11/2024 13:22

Lying on my legs ..both of them

Girl cat, making a bed, she knows you are doing it no matter where she is in the house

Trina is also obsessed with pole dancing. We have a basic cat floor to ceiling pole with platforms. She races up it and throws herself upside down.. waits for you to say "whatcha doing Trina" then throws herself around again
