5 month old sisters suddenly being aggressive

Had 2 rescues since mid August. Very playful and apart from one pooing under the bed when she gets the chance, no issues.

Last night out of nowhere, one comes out from behind the sofa with fluffy tale, heckles etc growling. Other responds in kind but not as aggressively.

Separated them last night. Brought them back together this morning, had breakfast...started up again. Not sure what happened as one was in the kitchen and one in the hallway. Split them again.

The non aggressor is in the conservatory and kitchen area crying to come in. It's awful. I'm going to swap them over in a bit.

What the hell..? I've had four other cats in the past. All boys, never experienced this.

It sounds like one of them was spooked by something and redirected onto the other - ours have done it in the past too.

Just give them time.

Fireworks?

Fireworks?

Don't think so...they seem better today but have had a couple of moments. Fingers crossed!

Have you googled littermate syndrome?
