Metacam for arthritis

We have a 16 year old-diabetic but otherwise in good health. Our vet diagnosed arthritis and obviously we want her to be as comfortable as possible. She had full bloods a few weeks ago and all was excellent. So I’ve given her an initial dose and no sickness or anything but I think she’s a bit sleepier.
Has anyone else used this and seen a slightly sleepier cat? Does it pass?

She’s gone. She slipped into unconsciousness this afternoon and pts at the vets. All so peaceful but I’m heartbroken

Oh you poor soul, I'm so, so sorry 😢.

I'm so glad you were there with her though, she was safe, warm, dry and with the person who loved her most. I know they say that grief is the price we pay for love but bloody hell, it's just heartbreaking isn't it.

Thank you. That’s so kind. it’s still so so raw and we all just miss her so much. I still can’t quite believe she’s gone. I know it gets easier but I almost don’t want it to-because it feels like leaving her behind

I know exactly what you mean, @Cannedheat1999 . And I've decided that when I rule the world, it'll be entirely legal - or in fact mandatory - to dish out a fairly substantial punishment of your choice to anyone who says "Are you going to get another one?" 😡

And actually I just wanted to make you aware of something that may happen. Our vet sends us a little card saying how sorry they all are, and enclosing a packet of Forget-me-not seeds 😢. I hesitated about mentioning it to you, but I've heard of a few vets doing that, so just be aware.

This sadness just doesn’t lift. I’ve been here before but it’s just so awful this time

I know what you mean @Cannedheat1999 . We have multiple pets, mostly rescues and nearly all elderly and/or a bit wonky, so we have to go through this at least once a year. It doesn't ever get easier and nor should it, I suppose, they're such a massive part of our lives. It just hurts so much 😢

It's such a small comfort but please hold on to the memories of the good years you shared. She was obviously very, very loved and that's so precious.
