Dwarfism in Cats

We've been told it's very likely our little one has Dwarfism. Has anyone else dealt with this. I mean he will be worshipped anyway just wondering out loud as I've never seen it in kitties.

Does he have short legs or is he just small in proportion?

Yes he has short stumpy legs and round paws. I just thought he was small probably the runt. The vet has questioned it though and I've to take him back in two months. He's 6 months old not quite 1kg even though he eats well.

There is an awful trend, that I think started in the US, to breed from these cats with their genetic faults and produce what they call 'Munchkin Cats'. I think it is dreadfully cruel and far from bring 'cute'.
But when it occurs naturally it is a bit sad but I expect the cat will still have a good life - just not be so agile.
(Please have him neutered though)
