New kitten and older cat

We had two sister cats, one of which passed away a few months ago. Our remaining cat pined initially but she has settled fine now.
We are keen to get another kitten and want to know how best to handle the introductions. I’ve read all about scent swapping but I’m also keen that we socialise the kitten well and don’t want them isolated too long from the family if we can help it

Im in the same situation. I Got a kitten Yesterday. A boy. Have an Older female. The kitten is in my room Only, for now.
Will swap scents. But i Think i Will keep him there for atleast a week. (So i am also there except for toilet and eating breaks.)
Rest of the House pamper older cat.
Hope it all goes Well ❤️

How's it going? I just got a kitten and we have an older cat too, last time I got a second cat we took ages to introduce them as per Galaxy Jackson but I think in hindsight we took too long. This time it's day 2 and I've already allowed them to see each other and for the kitten to come out into the living space while older cat was elsewhere.
Any tips you would share?
