My cat has died

Not quite sure the point of the post, Im just absolutely heartbroken and don't quite no what to do with myself. A neighbour knocked on the door this morning to say she had found a dead black cat under her car. One of mine hadn't come home for breakfast so knew straight away it was him, and it was. He was only 1 yr old. I can't believe he has died. My kids are going to be devastated, he was the bestest cat, so gentle. I couldn't see any obvious signs of injury so I don't know whats happened to him.

What a terrible shock, so very sorry, decades ago I was house-sitting long-term (a year) for a friend which came with cat-sitting duties for their bad-tempered bite-first-ask-questions-later cat that has been abandoned by the previous house owners when they moved. One morning my neighbour knocked on the door: in the night she had heard a terrible squalling and a dog growling and a man shouting 'leave it'......and in the morning had found the cat dead in the street. Even though he was the most unfriendly bitey cat I still cried buckets over him. How much more devastating the sudden loss of your beautiful loving boy must be. 💐
