Cat being affectionate - concerning??

This is going to sound so daft but my 6 year old cat has always kept to himself, doesn’t really like to be touched a lot. He has certain times of day where he likes a cuddle on his terms which is first thing in the morning and then again just before bed. He went to the vets a few days ago and had to stay in for the day, he is absolutely fine, not unwell that we know of. However, since coming back his personality has changed. He won’t leave me alone, he is being so affectionate, he just wants me to stroke him all day. I am working from home right now and he’s sat on my knee purring and head butting me.

I know it sounds ridiculous but is this kind of change a concern?? Could he be trying to tell me something? I thought maybe he’s just happy to be home but he’s been to the vets many times before in his life and has never ever acted like this

He's going from adult to mature so maybe his personality is changing?

As they get older they can do this, also they do get a bit different after vet visits in my experience.

Could you be pregnant? My cats were all over me when I was.

I also came on to ask you if you were pregnant

He's just saying don't do that again please, I'll be good honest.

My cat did this at the same age. She also started to look a bit more worn in and tired/stupid sometimes 😂 she has no health issues at all, she's just getting older and softer, she could be quite a bitch before so it's welcome haha.

It's because he stayed at the vets, he's missed you!! Our cat always does this after coming back from the cattery, after a couple of days he goes back to ignoring us 😆
