Hello. We moved to our new house a few weeks ago and let our ginger fluff ball out for the first time on Friday and he's not been back since 😪. He went out for an hour then came back then back out again and that was it since. We've travelled the estate calling him, gone back to our old house as it's close, left litter tray/bedding out etc but still nothing. Put it on our estate facebook group/local town page and not a peep.

Just looking for some positive stories of peoples cats returning as I can't help but fear the worst he's never coming home again 😞

Picture of my beautiful fluff ball!

Ask the neighbours at your old house to keep an eye out for him and put posters etc. up in both areas just in case.

I meant to add, two of mine have gone wandering for 4-5 days before and both turned up safe and well.

Thank you, luckily the new owners of my old house have messaged me to say they will keep a look out for him and let us know if they see him. There's a farm a 10 minute walk away in the fields behind us I'm hoping he's gone to be nosy there! I'm going to go and visit there later after work and call him x

Hope he comes home soon, have you reported him missing to the chip company , also phone round local vets .

BiscuitlyBoyle · 07/10/2024 21:41

Oh no. Look at that floofy boy. Have you tried sprinkling some of his litter tray outside? Apparently they can smell it a long way away and it helps them find home.

@Alwaystressed95
I hope your lovely cat comes home soon.
When one of ours went missing I put her unwashed blanket on the washing line hoping she would smell her way home. She did fortunately.

Same thing happened to me with my 2 cats.
We moved less than a mile away, kept them in for a few weeks, let them out and after a few days they both disappeared.
First time they both appeared separately at our old house, 2nd time one appeared at the old house and the other just strolled back in like he'd never been away. Both times they were gone for about 4 days.
Even now, 2 years later, I get a text from the new owners saying they've spotted one or both in our old garden

Any sign of your cat OP? 🤞

Any news of your cat?

Alwaystressed95 · 11/10/2024 10:08

HI everyone, sorry for the late reply! He came home 2 days ago 😃!! One of our new neighbours said they thought they saw him on their ring doorbell then came to ours straight away to tell us, my husband went outside and called him in the garden and he came running down. He was very thirsty and hungry so I'm guessing he was definitely lost/trapped somewhere! We let him out again yesterday and he's been back and forth since and I've now put an air tag on him so 😬
