More cats?

I have three cats. All rescues, around 10 years old. Former scaredy cats, now living their best lives. They mostly spend their time sleeping; acknowledge me when they want something; content to just be
comfy cats. No drama.

I'm good at rehabilitating cats who've had a tough life, who just need time and patience and a safe place to heal. I'm wondering whether to seek out a couple more needy souls around the same age.

It's just me and the cats. Nice, spacious house and can afford vet bills, food etc. And I'm around most of the day.

Is there a downside (for me or the cats) in adding two more?

As long as you have the financial means and the cats get on,why not.
I had a tom cat(neutered)then rehomed a female at 5 months when he was 4,they've never been best buds but lived harmoniously, then took on 2 girl kittens who are complete opposites, one always in one always out.
He wasn't phased by them at all at first but now he's 8 he's turned into Victor meldrew and attacks them when he passes now.
