We only went for a claw clip...

We took our 16 year old girl in for a claw clip today. Standard, 3 monthly appointment. Well while we were there they found she’s lost 1.5kg since July. She was a biggish girl to begin with but even being put on a diet the vet said that was very rapid and concerning. When they examined her they found she has a large mass in her abdomen. They have done bloods and she’s going for an urgent ultrasound and a biopsy. I’m so worried about her poor girl 😭😭

Paws crossed and positive thoughts for you 🐈‍⬛🧡

Oh no. So sorry.

Her bloods have come back with raised white blood cells which is a marker for infection or something sinister. Im honestly dreading the biopsy results now

Oh no! What a shock! Really hoping it is something the vet can help with 🤞🤞

Any news @Imamumgetmeoutofhere ? (Only if you want to share)

@Pudmyboy sadly it as how we thought it would be, she has cancer.

We have decided with the vet's support not to put her through treatment at her age, but to keep her comfortable with pain relief and when she shows signs of being in pain / suffering we will have her put to sleep.

It's been a sad few days, we've had her from 3 months old poor girl

Oh no, so sorry to hear your sad news 😔
I am glad you are able to have some time with her now, to love her and cuddle her (if she's a cuddly cat!).
When the time comes, will you take her to the vet or have someone come to your house? I had a home visit for my late little love Pud, he hated his carrier and the vets (though they were lovely), so I was glad to be able to arrange that. Wishing you strength for the time ahead and joy with your little cat for her remaining time 💐
