So my lovely boy has torn his cruciate ligament in his left knee. Vet has told us to keep him in a cage for six weeks then she’ll review. I’ve got a cage on order and it’ll be here today. Has anyone any experience of keeping cats as least mobile as possible?

Happy New Year cat mums and dads! The removal of the stabiliser was all good. The vet said his leg will be stiff for a while and wants to see him on 16 January. The cage has been dismantled and Arthur is free! Well to be honest, he was spending most of his time on the bed or the sofa. He’s not allowed to jump but he can get upstairs and downstairs fine. He’s walking well but not bearing his full weight on the leg. We are all hopeful if a full recovery 🐈‍⬛

That's great news - new year, new freedom!

Ours has the freedom of the house - but I think he got used to be waiting on as he's now even more needy than before! 😻

@Monstermunchy oh definitely! Arthur was having room service and breakfast in (on) bed. He’s been treated like a King. Yes, run (walk) of the house now. What a journey (palaver) it’s been. 🐈‍⬛

Evening all. Vet visit this morning. She was thrilled with the leg. He is walking well but with a slight aversion to putting his full weight on it at the moment. He may always have a slight limp now. He needs to build up the leg muscle that’s been underused when it was in the leg brace. She’s rebuilt him and he’s going to make it. So pleased for him 🐈‍⬛ xx
