Kitten food

We have recently got a kitten, he'll be about 14 weeks now. We have run out of the kitten food we had, the dry stuff, and partner has bought Whiskas 7+ - does that mean 7 years plus?

Yes, that's senior food 😊 may as well use it up now you've got it then just go back to kitten when it's gone. It won't kill them!

It’s senior food for cats that are over 7 years old. It’ll be fine though, we have a kitten and a senior and they eat each other’s food all the time. After all they’d be happily eating raw mouse left to their own devices!

That designed for older cats, but I don't think it matters that much. You would feed the same food to your (human) toddler and grandparents

So it's ok to give him this food? I know nothing about cats 😣

It won’t have what your kitten needs to grow.

so kitten food has a higher level of vitamins and minerals to support rapid growth. It has higher levels of fatty acids, folic acid and taurine. Senior food has higher levels of protein and antioxidants. It really won't make much of a difference to give them a box of senior but obviously it shouldn't be a regular thing 😊

Thanks everyone 😊

As a one off it won't make much difference but it might give him an upset stomach.

Ideally he needs to be on kitten food until one, though, as it has more calories and nutrients which they need to develop properly.
