What should it look like after castration?

My cat was castrated today. He’s just arrived home and it still looks as if his balls are there (to my completely uneducated eye). Is this just his ball bag? I have had a castrated male cat before and don’t remember him looking like this.

Yes, the scrotum isn't removed. It takes a little while to recede.

Thank you!

Yes I think they make a little slit and remove the testicles from inside. The wound is tiny. It’s very simple surgery (according to vet friend).

How old is he?

My cat wasn’t neutered until he was four and still has a sad, deflated sack at the age of 10! He had BIG balls before he was neutered, though 😂

My dog was neutered in a foreign rescue when he was very small and has not even the faintest trace of a scrotum remaining.

My boy was neutered late at two. (He was a rescue)

As with dogs, the sacks eventually shrink and are just a bit dangly after.

Might just be swollen from the operation. They make a slit in the scrotum and squeeze the testicle out of it.

Mine still looks like he has them but it's just the sack, his were rather large though
