Cat Missing

Last fed at about 3 ish yesterday but he looks for food multiple times a day. Didn't come in last night which was v unusual given he was gone so early and when that happens he is always looking to get in first thing but no sign.
This is no the longest he has been gone. He is about 4 years old
Ive put the bed etc outside and the contents of the hoover - anything else. I am calling but if he was near he would come back as he always does when you call him.
Any ideas ?

One of ours regularly (2-3 times a year) gets locked in our garage or shed, or the neighbours garage. Go and ask your neighbours to open theirs with you around shaking treats. A frightened cat will often take some time to extricate themselves from a hidey hole if they are frightened and in the dark.

I hope you find him 🤞

Thanks a million

I second door knocking neighbours and asking them to check sheds, garages and outhouses.

I’d also go out and call him early in the morning when it’s quieter so you’re more likely to hear him.

I hope he’s home soon.

Thank you so much. They all said they checked and put flyers in surrounding houses. He never goes far so losing hope here. Think I could cope if I knew what happened. There are lots of houses being renovated so will try them Monday am but unless he has a water source. Wish I had put a tracker on him but hes fed like 10 times a day so never ever far usually. Think hes gone

Don’t give up hope Flowers

Don't panic, it's only been a couple of days (I know that's really easy for me to say).

Divebar2021 · 14/09/2024 23:10

Do you have a local Nextdoor site… people are always posting missing cats on ours. There are a lot
of cat owners who will re post and look out for you. Even if he’s had an accident you will find someone will post an update and a description. Good luck

My boy was missing 5 days, I had put posters up around neighbourhood and got a call, he'd got locked in someones house while they were away. He wears a tracker now. I hope he's home soon.

Don't give up. They often are close to home but disoriented or shut in. Ask neighbours if you can go and check in sheds etc. yourself. I'd be onto any tradesmen with boards up on houses being renovated over the weekend. Can you get close enough to call and see if you hear cries to narrow down search?

BobbyBiscuits · 15/09/2024 19:01

I hope he turns up. My boy was really adventurous and went missing for over a week before. They've a very good sense of safety so I wouldn't worry too much.
Keep calling him etc. he could be being fed my someone else or just got lost exploring a bit. But their sense of direction is pretty good.

workshy46 · 16/09/2024 00:40

Hes back !! Thank you so so much. Jumpy and whiny but not hungry but thinking maybe someone checked their shed when they got the flyer. Thanks so much again for the suggestions and hope xx

Wonderful news for you 😁

Deargodletitgo · 16/09/2024 08:46

Oh fantastic news! I'd recommend tractive trackers if you want to keep track of the little monkey!
