Hello - I have an old girl (19!) with arthritis in her back legs. She does fine but I worry about her jumping on/off my bed at night. Mostly the dismount because she’s able to scrabble and pull herself up quite well, although it’s not very dignified 🤣

I’m slightly overwhelmed with the options online and was wondering if anyone has a ramp they would recommend? Preferably one that can lie flat when not in use. The bed is 60cm high so somewhere around 45cm and up would be ideal! Also not too expensive because who knows whether she’ll take to it!!

Paying the cat tax obv.

I've seen pet stairs. Would they be an option?

Do you have a footstool, pouffe or even a sturdy storage box you can put next to the bed so she has smaller steps to get up?

Is she on pain meds?

I used a tall step stool from Ikea for my girl.

My lovely cat is only 9 and arthritis has started. Very interested in others ideas

I agree I'd use a pouffe or similar, I wouldn't buy a ramp which will be cumbersome and as you say she might not use it.

Thanks all! I have a stool in my bedroom anyway that I’ve tried at the end of my bed but she shows no interest. Although maybe I need to train her with a lick e lix until she gets how it works 🤣

She’s on metacam and gabapentin for her legs which does help a lot.

Some cats just won't do what's best for themselves! And I'd put money on if you buy a swanky ramp it getting ignored!
