Mobile vet

Has anyone any experience with using a mobile vet as opposed to the traditional kind? As Elton is a difficult combination of a medical nightmare and a vet hater it's always a problem getting him the care he needs without drugging him up to the eyeballs. I'm just pondering if he might find a home visit less stressful or are we just invading his safe space?

I use an excellent London based one. It's pricey, but boy cat hates the vet so much I think it's worth it.

I've used a mobile vet for one of my previous cats - she got sooo stressed and aggressive when taken to the vet that they could never do anything with her. It was brilliant - she was calm, friendly, let them handle her as if they were just visitors ( she was actually a really social cat, just not at the vet). It was expensive, but definitely the right thing for her, I'm glad I did it.

Check with your vet, they might do house visits.

Hmm yes I think I will ask them first as they are pretty good with him.

Or if they don't do home visits they may be able to suggest a service (though I may be being naïve, they may not want you to go elsewhere or use a different vet, so may deny all knowledge of alternative services!)
