Does anyone's cat like the beef flavour?

I was dumb
Breadcat was favouring her purina one pouches and liked both the fish and the lamb ones.
So I looked online and pets at home were doing an offer so I bought 2 x 40 multipack.

1. It contains a beef flavour that she looks at as if it is radioactive
2. it seems to have generally put her off the purina one

I hid the boxes so she would not know it is a multipack!
I appreciate it might be made in a different country and therefore a different recipe.
Just given her some cooked chicken but she is still sulking

Mine too loathes the beef one. She will eat it if desperate but not otherwise. Annoying as we get a big multipack box every so often using Amazon savers and it does save lots of money, but not if she doesn't eat it!

All the cats I have ever known have hated beef flavoured food!

Yeah - my guys not beef fans either although I've just got a good deal on Zooplus on a Sheba multipack so hoping it'll take them unawares for a few meals.

My 4 are ok with beef but hate chicken, perhaps we should organise some sort of swap shop for fussy cats.

I have one who loves beef and chicken, but hates fish.

Suki at least tolerates and sometimes enjoys beef. She isn’t too keen on chicken and I do know she’s properly hungry if she eats it! She prefers fish

My cat loves meat but not fish. I gave him some nice cooked salmon the other and he walked off in disgust.

He'd be very happy with beef. I think he knows if it's for seniors though. And he's very angry about the expensive pouches I bought recently, as some of them are fish. Apparently he'd rather starve. (He's not starving he's clearly overweight )

I guess in the wild not many cats are chomping down on a whole cow 😂.
Poultry flavour kind of makes most sense.
They could always do a rodent flavour but guess that might not go down too well with the owners...!

Beef is my boy's least favourite one too! I tend to give it to him before bed as I know he'll eat it overnight when desperate.

Mine don't really like beef either. I order the fish multipacks from Amazon which they do eat.

I try to avoid any multi packs with beef beciase I have the throw them out. I wonder do any cats eat them!

Interesting. Mine hates the beef too, and likes any poultry or fish.

My old boy was allergic to beef
A single treat with 0.1% beef flavouring and he would be sick

My three LOVE the beef. But hate absolutely anything fish flavoured. Including actual fish. Bit of Brocoli though? Now THAT is a treat.

Our old boy will eat beef,when it suits him,the other two, no chance. One likes fish food,the other will stand on his head for chicken. I am not a cat slave sorting out their food preferences 😹

My sisters cat exclusively loved beef my cat would eat it (he was overweight) it was heartbreaking when her cat died she bought me all these tins of beef supermeat because she didn't know any other cat that would eat it

Thrifty will eat beef cat food, though I wouldn't say she's especially keen on it, but Izzy just doesn't seem to recognise beef as food, so I try not to buy any. She simply skipped the meal when I used to try it. They seem to prefer mild flavours like poultry and some fish. I think some brands have over-flavoured gravy that puts them off too.

Mine love beef but turn their noses up at poultry, and will occasionally accept fish.

Cats are funny!

Beef, in any form, is my cat's favourite food and I'm always on the lookout for new beef-flavoured cat food because she gets bored with Purina and my bank balance can't cope with the amount of deli beef slices she eats. We basically have beef roasts most Sundays because she will eat tons of it, especially warm from the oven. Won't touch anything fish-related though.

Mine used to love the beef version of Felix as good as it looks, but she's gone off it recently, and so has my mum's cat, so I'm wondering if they've done something to the formula?

I have her some filet beef from my plate of beef wellington once and it was like I had gov e her crack she went mental for it 😂😂

@olivecapes Yes! Breadcat will eat slivers off a steak if we are out in the garden with a BBQ but not beef flavoured catfood.
Mind you if memory serves from working in catfood R+D beef just means some bit of a cow- not muscle meat.
Hence why you don't see pork catfood.

Interesting split - most don't like the beef flavour but a few really do!

@Breadcat24 yes I assume there isn't much good in there, I'm currently getting guilt tripped by all the adverts for premium cat food on Facebook 😩
