Rechargeable heat pads for arthritis

My cat has arthritis, diagnosed this time last year, currently being managed with Solensia and loxicom. In the colder months, she sleeps on my bed during the day with the electric blanket on but wont sleep in bed with me at night. When its very cold I leave the heating on overnight as her arthritis is always much worse but I can't do that all winter otherwise I'll be bankrupt 😂

I got her a bed with a removable microwave heat pad but she won't put a paw in it (she's furious at the mere suggestion 😂) and the heat pad doesnt stay warm very long. I want to get a couple of rechargeable heat pads and put them under blankets in her normal sleeping quarters but there's a huge amount of choice - does anyone have any experience of using one for their cat and can recommend? It just needs to be warm for 6-8 hours, not roasting hot or anything and I'd prefer something decent quality and safe rather than cheapest option off ebay / amazon so I'm not up every 2 hours checking that its not overheating or exploding 😂

I had a pet remedy mains charged one. It did get very hot. But I left it on overnight by mistake, and it was fine.

You can get self heating pads for bad backs that go over your clothes. They stay warm for 12 hours. Could you put one of those under the cats blanket??

I'm looking at the self heating ones but I wasn't sure how effective they would be. I might give it a shot, I actually don't care what it is as long as it keeps her cosy and relatively pain free without the central heating on 24/7. Its just being cold has such an obvious effect on her pain levels, before the arthritis she mostly had to tough it out with fleecy blankets (and the fur coat she can't take off) unless it was 0 or below overnight.

My old boy has this for his arthritis -RIOGOO Pet Heating Pad, Electric... www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08GP3N42R?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

He loves it and it's v low cost to run. We leave it on 24/7 - he gets v cross if it times off 🙀

We were recommended wheat heat pads by the vet as it's a different kind of heat they give off. Bought on eBay by a pet owner who made her own!

My last old boy had a plug in one that was great, not too hot either. Just a cheapy one with decent reviews from Amazon though.

Do you know the name of the seller or the name of the product? I've had a search today but can't see them and I definitely want to try this!

Thanks all. I've ordered a couple of the self heating ones and the electric one recommended, and hopefully I'll get the ebay one too. She has multiple sleeping arrangements throughout the house so I'll dot them about and see what wins.

She resists all change though and I suspect I might resort to purchasing another heated mattress topper and putting it on a spare bed. She's really struggling at the moment, she's got quite bad stress issues so the 4 weekly trip to the vet for the Solensia is an ordeal, and she HATES the medication I can top her up with at home. She gets a special honey flavoured gabapentin (has to be ordered specially) but still acts like I've attempted to assassinate her when I squirt a bit on her paw 😹

Is she also having prescription strength YuMove? We used to sprinkle the capsules into mackerel in tomato sauce, she loved it.

I just checked and she doesn't have any round ones listed but contact her and ask if she'll make some for your kitty.
