New thread for the inmates of Toddler Towers. Strange to think, it's about two completely different cats, from the original
Thread. But Magic, Maia and Cheddar will never be forgotten.

More cats! More cats! More cats 🐈‍⬛ 🐈🐈‍⬛🐈🐈‍⬛🐈🐈‍⬛🙀

Toddlerteaplease · 19/09/2024 22:36

The feliway has run out. That may explain why relationship are currently tricky! Pads really does just want a play mate.

I'm not sure how much longer I can do this. I love him to bits but it's so stressful, and it's one step forward and then two steps back. Penelope is terrified of him when he's up and about, it's been four months now.

Pads needs a cat who will play with him.

OP posts:
Soubriquet · 20/09/2024 09:49

Yes he does. So you need to get another cat in for him to play with. Then Pen is happy cos she’s left alone and Pads is happy cos he’s got another cat to play with

Toddlerteaplease · 20/09/2024 09:53

I'll speak to the rescue and see what they suggest.

Or Pen is doubly unhappy because she has two cats to fear?

I wonder if she is afraid of Pads because he’s male, and she was a breeding queen in probably not very nice circumstances ?

Sandwichgen · 20/09/2024 10:11

Or have i misremembered that?

Yes I think so. I really think the only option now is to rehome him. I'm absolutely heartbroken.

You've done your best with him. He's a lovely boy, he evidently feels very secure with humans. He just can't accept that Pen needs to be queen in your household.

I don't think you've ruined his life by bringing him into your house. He seems very confident in himself and you've given him a chance to be himself.

Soubriquet · 20/09/2024 11:27

It would be such a shame having to give him up when he’s obviously settled so well, but I understand you have to do right by poor Pen too

It’s a good idea to speak to the rescue and see what they suggest

Sandwichgen · 20/09/2024 11:29

A much busier house would probably suit him

Toddlerteaplease · 20/09/2024 11:36

I can't get hold of the rescue. But my mum is good friends with a retired vicar round the corner from them. Who lost her cat a few months ago. And would be an ideal home for him. So she's sounding them out.

OP posts:
Toddlerteaplease · 20/09/2024 11:37

@TheLongRider it's Pens life that's been ruined not his!

I would love to take him but Toots is not a cat friendly cat. She prefers to be the only boss.

She manages to boss around my smallest dog who is about half her size Grin. She doesn’t pull it off with the bigger dog though as dog is just a slight bit bigger than her. It’s why the dogs have the run downstairs and she has the run upstairs so she can choose if she wants to go down or not

Toddlerteaplease · 20/09/2024 12:12

My mum is sounding out a retired vicar near them, who recently lost her cat. Which would be perfect for him. So keep your paws crossed.

Soubriquet · 20/09/2024 12:25

Fingers and paws crossed x

Toddlerteaplease · 20/09/2024 20:26

The people my mum had in mind have both said no. 😿

OP posts:
Soubriquet · 20/09/2024 21:11

Oh no!!! Why?

Toddlerteaplease · 20/09/2024 21:34

I don't know. But it's fair enough. He's being such a cuddle chips at the minute. But he invaded Pens space while she was sitting in the bath. I'm so sad for him. He's just an absolute darling.

Still waiting for the rescue to reply.

I have a feeling he’d be great with a kitten

SoDoffYourHat · 21/09/2024 12:40

You must be heartbroken at the thought of parting with him - I hope you can find someone to take him that you can stay in touch with.

Oooo kitten. Could you get him a kitten playmate? And then pads and Kitty can play whilst Pen sits on her throne and throws distanced looks at them but is left in peace

Toddlerteaplease · 21/09/2024 15:05

I did think that. But I'm not sure if it would be the right thing for pen, it would either be a total success or a disaster. And I'd be up having to regime two cats. And still have an unhappy Pen.
