Hi everyone. Just looking for some advice really. Our boy cat came home Friday evening limping and yowling. He wouldn't let us touch his leg so I rang the vet who said they could see him on Saturday. I fed him Friday night and he ate all his food. Saturday I took him to the vet. The vet examined him and said he had sprained his leg, probably by mistiming a jump and he just needed rest and she gave him some painkillers.
Anyway since then he is hardly eating anything. He still wants to sit with us and snuggle but he is only eating a few bites of food a day, but he is sleeping most of the day (which the vet said he needed to do to recover). He isn't taking his painkillers because he isn't eating enough food to take them. I dont know if its too early to take him back to vet. She did say it will take a few weeks to recover and its only been 5 days.
Has anyone else had a cat with a sprained leg before? How long does it take to return to normal, did they eat normally? I hate seeing him like this.
