Cat soup

Our 17 year old cat will only eat 'cat soup' and her normal biscuits now. She likes the Sheba ones but they come in small packs and are not cheap. Anything with big shreds or lumps in she just licks all the liquid or jelly off and wastes the meat.

Has anyone got any ideas of other more 'bulk buy' liquidy cat foods?

She miaows so loudly at night she wakes the whole house up if we don't have it for her. Help!

Can't you just wizz up cat food with a blender? My little buggars like the soup - reduced at the corner shop!

Will she eat pate type foods?

I add a bit of filtered water to mine to make the soup part stretch (especially during summer too for a bit more hydration). Mine are the same, they love the Felix soup 😂

There's a brand called "seriously good" that sell bone broth, also not cheap but no bits and my cats love it. The vet said we could give the cats human bone broth (e.g homemade / from a supermarket) and that's much cheaper tbh, gives them the soup they love too!

Human bone broth? That sounds a bit grim! Is there s 'mass murderer' alert?

The Applaws senior in broth is good, very soft. My cat loves it.

Thank you all. I can't bear to have to blend cat food and then wash the blender up - my life does not need that adding 😂. She will eat the Felix ones but she leaves all the bits - annoying!

I'll try pate - she might deem that as acceptable.

I feel like we are being held hostage by her as if she doesn't have it she wakes up the kids she is that loud. The older she gets the worse it gets, she never used to do this. She is otherwise very healthy and happy.

@Theoldwrinkley

😂 oh my that's made me snort!!!

Obviously made from the bones of cat haters, people who don't even go "pspsps" and anyone who's ever ignored the attention of a cat!

Pate and water??
easier than the blender option.

jazzyBBBB · 15/07/2024 20:31

My old girl went like this. Another one she would eat was the Aldi pate as it's very moussey.
