Enrichment ideas

My outdoor and company loving cat will have to spend about 16 hours home alone and indoors one day next week (long story).

I always leave the radio on for him and he has a snuffle mat, but any other ideas of things to do to to keep him entertained for the day?

Cheddar did't play with toys, but loved plastic springs. They've been A huge hit with Paddington. As have balls and anything he can bat around. Mollies move always go down well.

Boycat is weird about toys, he generally ignores them but loved a mad half hour with a ball of tin foil. Also likes to eat string so have to keep any toys with string away from him!

So far I've decided on the snuffle mat, a hidden bowl of food, toys about the place and some surprise catnip in places.

I have an overnight stay away next month too and would usually get an overnight catsitter but can't find one, so the poor guy will have about 36 hours shut in too (with someone popping in to feed him). Sigh.
