Hello, started a thread last week about my boy and probable thryroid issues. Today he refused to have blood sample taken, staff at vets were more likely to lose blood. We sent home in disgrace , with 50mg of sedative to take before trying again. Query is is it ok to let him out few hours after taking? Thanks

Vet nurse here ,personally i would not let out or advise you to let out an animal post sedative.
You will not know for certain how the drug will affect him ,it can take a while for it to wear off and he may be a little disorientated in the meanwhile.
He is vulnerable in this state and needs to be around for you to be able to observe him.
I would wait until the day after if he will tolerate being kept in.
